The Wehubit programme (2024-2026) is implemented by a Programme Management Unit (PMU), responsible for the operationalisation of Wehubit in line with the project agreements and decisions by the Steering Committee. This new programme involves implementing Call for Proposals from different sub-programmes.

The PMU works transversally for all calls for proposals :

  • Wehubit 2.0 focusses on accelerating the adoption and scaling-up of digital social innovations, defining innovations as novel solutions with proven implementation and potential for impactful scalability. This Call for proposals aims to catalyse digital social innovations in response to the increasing digitalisation shaping our societies.

  • Data Governance in Africa (DGA) : Financed by the European Union, this programme aims to identify and support the scaling of data-driven Digital Social Innovations (DSIs) in Africa implemented by public institutions, academia, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and/or Social Enterprises through a grant facility and capacity building activities

  • Digital and Green Innovation (DGI): Funded by the European Union, Germany, Belgium, Estonia and France, this Call for Proposals aims to identify and support digital and green innovations that are ready or transitioning to scale.

  • The Facility, part of the Regional Facility for Teachers in Africa (RFTA) is implemented by Expertise France, Enabel, VVOB, APEFE and EDUFI. The Call for Proposals “Innovative Solutions for Teacher Education” focusses on identifying and supporting the scaling-up of innovative solutions to enhance the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of initial and continuous teacher professional development

All these Calls for Proposals are implemented by the PMU with transversal roles and dedicated experts, as listed below.

The team can also count on an extensive network of focal points within Enabel distributed in partner countries and at headquarters, ensuring alignment with Enabel’s geographical and thematic priorities.
